Pharmaceutical and Mental Health translator

I'm ready to team up with you to reach your Spanish speaking customers in the US and in Spain

Here I am, in the spotlight! You guessed it, I’m Leyre Alegre. I’m surrounded by languages all day long. I’m an English to Spanish translator and a Spanish lecturer at Michigan Technological University.

I mostly translate from English into Spanish, but French and Catalan sometimes manage to get in the way.

Areas of specialization

My areas of expertise are in the Pharmaceutical, Mental Health and Education areas

I also translate overlapping topics related with Human Resources and Health Benefits/Wellness.  Certified translations have been a constant in my career, whether for individuals, lawyers, or banks.

I take very seriously every client's needs. I will team up with you to find the best solution for you, whether you want clinical trial participants to grasp a complex topic in lay Spanish, an Hispanic family to understand a PCP for their child, a Spanish speaker parent to see their child's academic progress over a semester or submit a certified translation.

Education and Organizations

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpretation, from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain; I continued my studies with a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language, from the Universitat de Barcelona in Spain.

I am an active member of the American Translators Association (ATA) and Michigan Translators/Interpreters Network (MiTiN). I also attend conferences and courses every year to continue my education.

But enough about me… what brought you here? I will be happy to hear about your needs via email, or phone. You can call me at 248-921-3956, and explain me your project. I will help you figure out the best strategy to shape it

If you prefer, we can connect on LinkedIn.

Interested in more info about me? Here it is…

I’m originally from Barcelona, Spain (that’s why I also speak/work with Catalan). It’s a lovely Mediterranean city and I do miss it of course! Thankfully I get to travel back and forth quite often.

In 2005 I flew all the way to Michigan. I started working as translator and as a Spanish lecturer for the University of Michigan until 2013, when I relocated to Houghton, Michigan. I’ve been in the beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula since then.

Ready for geeky talk?

I care about the translated version of your document as much as you do care for your original.  I will ensure that the final translation meets your quality expectations.

There is no way around using a translation software to keep consistency in terminology in different projects for the same client. This ensures quality and coherence. I'm flexible and not scared to learn and use different software that might be better for your needs.

Through my translation software I can upload different document formats, including doc, docx, gif, idml, indd, jpeg, pdf, ppt, pptx, tmx, txt, xliff, xls, xlsx, pub, etc.

Get in touch!

If you are interested in finding out more about my translation or quality assurance processes, or how I keep consistency in terminology, I will clarify them by phone (+1- 248-921-3956) or email (leyre@letsword.us).
